![]() The Paisley Project. Classic rock and pop songs. Brand new feeling. Hypnotic grooves. Rich vocal harmonies. Creativity and inspiration. A cosmic swirl of psychedelic sounds and dance beats that blow your mind on a musical trip through time, and a musical treat for fans of Sixties and Seventies pop, psychedelic rock, and Motown. Invention and communication. In New England's active music scene of the mid-70s, Linda, David, Tom, Mark and Tim were
standouts in separate bands, chasing the dream and playing venues across Boston and MetroWest.
In 2002, after years of mutual admiration for their respective talents, they met socially for
the first time - to jam, experiment, and play favorite songs together. They also discovered a
common love for the best rock and pop music of the 60s and 70s. The results were magic, leading
to a decision to perform as The Paisley Project.
After performing on the New England progressive rock scene throughout the late '70s and '80s in bands such as IMAGE and LINDA'S LEAGUE, her band 3-SPEED was signed to MCA records in 1985, with Linda featured on vocals in Jim Carrey's first film "Once Bitten". Linda later toured with SOUL CITY, an R&B band performing at DisneyWorld and across the East Coast. An accomplished songwriter, keyboardist, MIDI programmer, vocalist and producer, Linda has written and arranged songs for over a dozen major feature films. Her work has been featured in Billboard, MTV, and other music video stations in nationwide markets. Linda's voice is heard nationally on literally thousands of radio and TV spots. Linda performs with Yamaha keyboards and considers Aretha Franklin and The Beatles her primary influences.
After touring with the ESTES BOYS in the '70's, Tom played with FAIR, YATES AND BETSCHART, a trio performing an eclectic mix of pop, folk and art rock music to standing-room only crowds. Tom's Gibson 12-string electric guitar is heard on many Paisley tunes, complemented by his fiery solo work on electric and acoustic 6-string. In his collection of over 50 vintage and custom guitars Tom selects a '64 Gretsch 6120 and a custom '72 Fender Strat as his favorites. Tom gets inspiration from the work of Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix and Chet Atkins.
Dave's stage experience began in a college production of Shakespeare's Macbeth, leading to regional musical theatre. As lead vocalist and guitarist, he performed with countless bands, including NUMBERS, DANCER, BANDIT and an acoustic duo with BMI artist and songwriter DON HILL. Dave's vocals are heard on recordings by many Boston artists including DIDI STEWART, BELLEVUE CADILLAC, numerous radio and TV commercials, and he continues to produce recordings by new artists. Dave plays a Rickenbacker 360 Jetglo guitar, and his vocal style is influenced by the likes of John Lennon and David Crosby.
An award-winning songwriter, Tim recorded tunes with Boston-based rockers L88 and appears as a vocalist on a soon-to-be-released rock opera, "The Journey of Devon James". In The Paisley Project, Tim plays a Fender Precision bass and uses Gallien-Kruger amplifiers. Inspired by The Beatles, Tim continues to be an avid fan of all Sixties music and maintains a vintage record collection with well over 1,200 classic vinyl recordings by the original artists.
Mark is training to make an attempt at the Guinness World Record for marathon drumming, a feat requiring constant drumming for 47 hours (we are talking Major League ENERGY here)! Mark remembers and admires the drum work of Jeff Porcaro with Toto, Steely Dan. |
